Electron guns are an essential component in all vacuum electron devices (VEDs) such as accelerators, gyrotrons, traveling-wave-tubes, and x-ray tubes. Bridge12 can fabricate electron guns for your specific application. Our gyrotrons and TWTs use in-house developed guns that are specifically designed to generate high quality electron beams. Our guns are designed using custom state-of-the-art benchmarked codes that have been verified with experimental results over several different classes of vacuum devices. These guns require extensive thermo-mechanical modeling to achieve high manufacturing tolerances and agreement with the design specifications. We can develop electron guns for your specific requirements through all stages of physics and electrical design, simulation, fabrication and testing.
Magnetron Injection Guns

Magnetron Injection Guns

Magnetron Injection Guns (MIG) provide generate an annular beam and are typically used in gyrotrons. These guns are operated in the temperature limited regime and their current can thus varied by changing the filament current. A 60 kV, 7 A MIG for a W-Band gyrotron is shown on the right. The electron gun has been successfully operated in continous wave mode and generted > 100 kW of power in a W-band gyrotron.

TWTs require a linear beam or a sheet electron beam with very precise current at a fixed voltage. These electron guns operate in the space charge limited regime and require accurate design, modeling and assembly to achieve the desired specfications.
